17+ Years in the making.

the Beginning.

Inspired by the essence of the islands, Chef Rob’s Cafe & Bar was established in 2006 to bring a contemporary twist to an already favored Caribbean cuisine. Celebrating Caribbean favorites as a whole, Chef Rob’s Cafe strives to provide a comprehensive experience reminiscent of the island we call “Home”. Wherever you may consider “Home”, we want you feel just as comfortable in our relaxed environment. Located just outside of the Perimeter, in the affluent Sandy Springs area, for 17+ years, Chef Rob’s Cafe has been an Atlanta staple for those seeking a cultural atmosphere without sacrificing the dining experience.

Dreams turned reality.

Executive Chef/Restaurateur, Robert Gayle, combines his Caribbean background with his own culinary sophistication, to gather flavors from around the world for a refined menu if island comfort fare. A native to the island of Jamaica, West Indies, Chef Rob’s relocation as a teenager to the United States triggered his culinary awareness when his journey began as a steward in Brooklyn, NY. After obtaining his degree from The Culinary Institute of America in 1993, his skills and prestige steadily increased over time, allowing him to assist with the openings of Sean “P. Diddy” Combs’ New York & Atlanta ventures, Justin’s Restaurant. After his tenure at Justin’s, Chef Rob managed to successfully established a name for himself in Atlanta and surrounding cities which prompted the creation of Chef Rob’s Caribbean Cafe.

In 2006, Chef Rob’s Caribbean Café opened its doors and quickly became a staple in Atlanta for Caribbean food. Chef Rob’s award-winning Caribbean Cuisine features Braised Beef Oxtails, Ackee and Saltfish; Jerk Chicken, Curried Goat, Cajun Seafood Pasta, and his signature spicy jerk seasoning. Chef Rob’s brand continues to expand with its wide selection of signature sauces, intimate cooking classes, and private event catering.

Throughout the decade, Chef Rob also developed the Chef Rob’s Upscale Lounge and a caribbean food truck to complement the already established caribbean cafe. These business ventures helped further the brand for over 10 years until the re-grand opening of Chef Rob’s Caribbean Cafe to the present day Chef Rob’s Cafe & Bar.

In 2023, Chef Rob and his family, consolidated all of the Chef Rob’s business ventures into what we know it as today. Operating under a “less is more” mindset, Chef Rob has scaled back his business with plans of scaling upwards into new business ventures that further expand on Jamaican culture and cuisine.
