Robert Gayle, also known as “Chef Rob” is the proud owner of Chef Rob’s Caribbean Cafe located in the heart of Sandy Springs, GA.Chef Rob’s doors first opened in summer 2006. The Caribbean cuisine dishes prepared and offered on Chef Rob’s menus are of such notable recognition and demand that not even the Recession couldn’t even keep Chef Rob’s dedicated patrons away. Rave reviews from patrons and acclaimed critics are due to not just the evident effort, love and pride that Chef Rob puts into every single dish on his menu, but also from his professional expertise and training.

The Jamaican born chef first discovered his passion for cooking at the age of 13 by watching his mom and older sister in the kitchen. Raised in Brooklyn, New York, Robert began his culinary career as a restaurant Steward, to Prep Cook and then to Line Cook. He honed his cooking and cuisine food preparation skills at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York where he graduated in 2003. From there Robert successfully acquired a position as Sean “Puffy” Comb’s Executive Chef for the New York City and Atlanta Justin’s restaurant. Other major notable celebrities such as Steve Harvey, L.A. Reid, Dikembe Mutombo, and Russell Simmons were soon known to patron Chef Rob’s culinary services for either personal dining, catering or corporate luncheons.

Chef Rob’s Caribbean Café is acclaimed by Atlanta Magazine as the #1 Caribbean Cuisine restaurant in all of Metro Atlanta. The Braised Beef Oxtails have been voted #1 in the city of Atlanta. While Chef Rob maintains classics on his menu, there are excellent new additions on his menu that are to die for. Pan Seared Crab Cakes, Caribbean Turkey Burger, Electric Appetizers, Premium Liquor and Gourmet Bundt Rum Cake just to name a few are highly recommended.
